When the Maverick Food Pantry accepts donations that have a short shelf-life (meats, fresh produce, milk, etc), we distribute the food as soon as possible.Live On Nebraska staff will select an additional two runner-up butterflies to receive $25 gift certificates. You can purchase flags from the Donate Life Store or get creative and craft your own. If you have a Donate Life flag, we encourage you to display it at your home or wherever is meaningful to you. The three butterflies that receive the most votes will receive a $50 gift certificate to Live On Nebraska’s Threadless merchandise store. Throughout the year and in the month of April, hospitals in Nebraska raise the Donate Life Flag in honor of donors and their recipients. There are no parameters on how it must be decorated. Live On Nebraska will provide participants with a small (approximately 2″) butterfly form to decorate in a theme of their choice that represents the gift of life.
